Big Changes Happening in the Living Room!

We have been wanting to put hardwood in our living/dining room since we moved in. But we agreed to wait until we found something we really loved and it was a great deal.

We had requirements. It had to be hand scraped and distressed. It had to be brown but a warm brown. Those dark espresso floors can look nice but they show every mark and spec of dust. No thanks!

We walked into Home Depot one night and BOOM!! There it was!! It was a great deal! But we took home a sample to be sure we loved it in our house. Turns out we LOVED it!! We went back and bought it on Sunday afternoon. They were installed Thursday morning. 

After my hubby installed the hardwood in our last house, he swore he would never do it again! Plus since this is our forever home we wanted it perfect :)

Here's what the process looked like.

We had to rip out all the old laminate floors.

 That left us with our sub floors to clean up.

The day the floors were installed it looked like this:

 It looks gorgeous with our board and batten walls :)

We love, love, love our new floors!!! 

The only problem is once the the floors were installed we hated our paint colours with it. So now I have repainted the whole main floor! But that's a whole other post :)
